Text correction methodology of Mohammad Ali Foroughi (based on his lifestyle and personal writings)

Abstract

Mohammad Ali Foroughi is known as one of the prominent figures of politics and literature in contemporary research. Foroughi was a multifaceted personality who, despite holding important political and state positions, had brilliant literary and cultural activities and is considered an influential person in creating a new look at literature. Zoka al-Molk is one of the pioneers in the modernisation of humanities research. He is one of the pioneers in combining the traditional and modern view of ancient literary texts and is mentioned alongside figures such as Seyyed Hasan Taghizadeh, Mohammad Qazvini and Habib Yaghmai.

Text correction can be mentioned among the areas that Foroughi associated with innovation. Although Foroughi uses the ancient method in compiling and correcting texts, his method has differences from that which can be referred to as innovation. Today, these innovations are used by proofreaders in the new and scientific-critical way of proofreading Persian texts. Foroughi's efforts in the correction field have been intertwined with his life in such a way that it can be considered an important pillar of his lifestyle. In this article, we have analyzed Foroughi's theoretical and practical legacy in text correction and its application for text correctors with an analytical and critical view, and we have mentioned examples from his memories, letters and notes.
