Comparative and confrontational analysis of literary metaphors in Persian and English poetry

The purpose of this research is to investigate literary metaphors in Persian and English texts and compare them and describe their similarities and differences. Because literary language is a language in which words and sentences are usually not used in their original meaning, but take on a figurative meaning. Therefore, the theoretical framework used in the science of expression is Persian. Expression in the term of literature is a set of rules and regulations by means of which a meaning is shown in different ways. The body under investigation is a Persian poem (Divan Parvin Etisami) and an English poem (sylvia plath). The current research has a qualitative nature and its type is descriptive-analytical in the field of Persian and English expression. In this article, an attempt has been made to discuss the similarities and differences between metaphors in Persian and English rhymes in the field of contemporary poetry. And the literary metaphors in contemporary poetry, after identifying and examining all the metaphors in these two works, the similarities and differences between the metaphors of these two works should be discussed by obtaining samples of the poems of the mentioned contemporary poets. In this research, it is avoided to mention all the examples found and a limited number is given, in such a way that by bringing all the verses, the type of metaphor is determined and the elements of the metaphor are also shown in the form of a table at the end after explaining it. By examining the given examples; The similarities and differences of metaphor in two languages are shown in such a way that the most obvious similarity between the two; It is used in both languages; Because metaphor in both languages is borrowing something instead of something else, and its basis is simile, and the most important difference between the two can be seen in their divisions. And the difference of its elements in two languages, because in Persian it is examined in detail and metaphor has four pillars, but in English it has two pillars and it is studied and used more generally
